BreadFruits Cafe, Desa Sri Hartamas

Nothing says it's the weekend more than a indulgent brunch in a cosy cafe. Added bonus, if said brunch turns out to be a healthy one too ;)

With hungry tummies, we headed to BreadFruits Cafe in Desa Sri Hartamas thanks to a Foursquare recommendation. Finding parking was a little mad given it was late on a Saturday morning, and the open car park space in front of the restaurant was full. So, we ended up parking by the roadside and optimistically hoping to avoid getting a fine.
As the name mentions, you'll find a good variety of baked goods here.
...And fresh fruits! A little unusual for a cafe, but a quirky touch anyone can appreciate :)
Cosy interior, boasting a theme of simple wooden decor with tons of natural light coming in. We picked a nice little table at the back - perfect spot to avoid the rush of people coming in and out of the place.
BreadFruits does a variety of freshly squeezed juices. You could tell that this was legit stuff as there was no hint of added sugar or that it was diluted in some syrupy liquid like most commercial juice places. Yummy stuff!

It's a given to have coffee at brunch of course. Luckily this place has the basic caffeine-lover range to choose from.

Their food menu is rather extensive and obviously themed around serving up healthy and hearty meals. I opted for a sandwich while Jon went for something eggy to satisfy his never-ending obsession with eggs.
Runny baked eggs in a flavourful tomato sauce with cheese and bacon. YUM. The Spanish Baked Egg was perfect to spread over fresh bread and butter provided on the side. It was easy tell the ingredients used were fresh and unprocessed, which makes for a darn good-tasting finish.

Perfection in a bite.
My Club Sandwich was equally impressive. Decent bread with a tangy filling of ham, cheese and a zesty sauce served with a salad on the side.

I wanted to hug them for adding pieces of baked potato in the salad.
I was tempted to get some dessert at the end of the meal (just like every other meal) and had my eyes on that freshly baked cake-strudel-thingy. However, we decided to hunt down another bakery in the area instead - thanks again Foursquare! Needless to say, this place has all the right ingredients for a great brunch spot, and deserves more than just a second visit :)
