The Munchkin Diaries: Artisan Roast HQ @ Section 13

Working in an area that's surrounded mostly by factories and with nothing remotely exciting in walking distance, this place has been a true godsend!

Perfect for those let's-sneak-out-of-the-office-for-a-bit evenings. Doesn't hurt that it's a 1 min walk away from the workplace too.

Apart from coffee done amazingly well, this place wins for ambiance and service. A warehouse-esque concept with cemented floors, brick walls and wooden furniture - the right ingredients that make for a cozy atmosphere. Add their super friendly staff to the mix and it's no surprise why you'll never find this place patron-less.

Also, they don't have 4,285 different varieties of drinks to choose from, sticking with just the basics, which is more than enough to keep Fatin, my collegue and I crossing that road over to Artisan every time.

Here's their menu. Short and sweet. Prices are reasonable too. Starting at just RM5 for a cuppa of Black coffee.

White coffee usually wins. We end up ordering it 90% of the time - not that we're not adventurous enough to alternate with other offerings, but because it's really that good. Mocha and Black (for fat days) being in the 10% category, are also decent picks.

Besides coffee, they've got a bunch of cakes to choose from. Best of the lot for us was Carrot & Walnut followed by their Cheesecake. Found their Dark Chocolate and Red Velvet to be rather dry (or maybe the baker was just having a bad day?).
