So, the boss took us to the Jaya 33 outlet of Coliseum Cafe & Grill Room (right behind the office..). This place opened last year, and I've been curious to try the food for quite some time now from all the hype I've heard. Always seemed pretty fancy from the outside, like the sort of sophisticated place where important business lunches took place.
However when we entered, the reality was a little different. The place was incredibly packed (not exactly a bad thing), noisy, and had a commercial kopitiam-esque vibe for some reason. I wasn't the only one in the group to notice this.
Oh and you won't find Tabasco sauce on the tables here, instead you'll see our local Lingham's Chili Sauce, which I thought was pretty cool.
Anyways, onto the food..
We started off with garlic bread. It was crispy and buttery with great flavour. Honestly one of the best I've had in awhile.
And the rest..
Chicken Cordon Bleu
Grilled Salmon
Mixed Grill
Grilled Sea Bass
Verdict: General consensus from everyone was that the food was just average for the rather premium prices charged. Perhaps we were all expecting to be wowwed with all the hype surrounding this place.
